On Persistence Layers, with an Application to the Trennung von Anliegen Problem
Regardless of you data access technology (e.g. ADO.NET, LINQ to SQL,
Entity Framework, NHibernate, etc.), the design of your persistence
layer can make or break an application. Add to this, data which is
sourced and saved from/to remote web services (e.g. SOAP and REST) can
also add complexity to the mix. This discussion will weave a story of
how to craft well architected, testable, and scalable persistence
layer implementations.

Daniel Bullington considers himself a "Software Strategist", embodying
the skills of an Architect, Engineer, Leader, and Mentor. He is driven
by an intense desire to deliver high quality, secure, and scalable
software applications on time and within budget, thus enhancing
business value. He approaches solving challenging business problems
using technology by leaning on proven technologies, patterns, and
practices with preference in using iterative/incremental software
methodologies. Daniel believes software development is more than just
about programming; it is a true engineering disciple in its infancy.
He likes to think that he furthers that agenda by his involvement in
the software community in which he mentors others in software
engineering/architecture, development automation, and software
quality. Daniel is an MCSD in .NET, holds a Bachelors of Science in
Computer Science from Longwood University, and holds a Master’s of
Information Technology from Virginia Tech. Daniel currently works for
Wells Fargo as a .NET Technical Lead/Application Systems Engineer 5 on
the on the Brokerage Operations Technology - Streetside/Reconciliation
Team.
